market and consumer analysis, and worldwide contacts, will guarantee a
proper scientific performance of the foreseen tasks.

Öko-Institut –
Partner (FR) – Institute for Applied
Ecology, a registered
non-profit association) is the leading environmental research institute
in the field of applied ecology in Germany. It elaborate scientific
studies and advise politicians, institutions, environmental
associations and companies. Throughout the 27 years since the Institute
was founded, it has analysed and evaluated environmental problems,
identified risks and developed solutions.
BIO
Intelligence Service – Partner
(FR) – Active since 1989 in research and consultancy
in the field of environmental and health information on products,
BIOS’s expertise is widely recognised in France and in
Europe. A pioneer in the domain of life cycle assessments and
nutritional health, BIO offers, to private and institutional
decision-makers, a wide range of services covering the entire life
cycle of environmental and health information on products and services,
from the generation of the information by means of environmental and
health assessments of products and services to its dissemination to
expert and non-expert audiences. For EuP preparatory studies, BIO
provides their specific expertise in the following fields: market data
and consumer behaviour analysis with reference to ecodesign products;
environmental economics (including LCC); multi-criteria analyses
(economic and environmental impacts) of policy options and policy
instruments; strong knowledge of the IPP of the European Commission (in
particular the EIPRO study); and information dissemination through
websites.
Deutsche Umwelthilfe – Sub-contractor
(DE) – Established in 1975, DUH is an independent
non-profit association focussed on the protection of nature and
environment as well as on consumerism. The core competences of DUH are
coordination, public relations, and campaigning as well as consultancy
for policy makers. The work program of the Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V.
covers a wide range of environmental and consumerism issues and
addresses mainly on achieving practical results. DUH builds up and
cultivates strategic partnerships with environmental and industrial
stakeholders, scientists and private enterprises and campaigns for a
sustainable development and environmental friendly economy since a long
time. Furthermore the DUH is working in the field of environmental
education in order to rise ecological awareness.
PE
Europe – Sub-contractor
(DE) – PE Europe provides software solutions and
services for all environmental activities related to products
and production, and for corporate sustainability reporting. PE
Europe was founded in 1991 (at that time as a spin off company of IKP,
University of Stuttgart) and is an independent GmbH since
2001. It benefits still from an ongoing cooperation with IKP
from the scientific background in LCA and well educated employees, but
PE Europe acts independently by offering its services, software tools
and competencies to industry, companies and NGOs.
